Eden had lost everything she ever loved in a matter of weeks. Her husband, Christof, was a casualty of war while her daughter Eva fell ill with the plague. It seemed impossible to heal her daughter, and so Eden had grown desperate and turned to dark arts to try and cure her. The townspeople learned of her involvement in witchcraft and cast her out of the village.
Alone with her daughter, Eden sought shelter in an abandoned cottage in the wood. It was there where she had found an old book. This text pointed her toward a cure for her daughter's affliction, but it would involve a great quest. She knew the journey would be hard, and that she'd need to leave her daughter behind, but what other choice did she have? Eden packed her belongings and began the adventure the next morning. It wasn’t soon until after that she began hearing a voice. Curious, she followed it into a cave.
Eden grew weary yet followed the voice as it called her name “Eden. Come here, Eden. We see your pain, Eden. We can help you. Let us help you.” Out of the darkness appeared a strong, foreboding figure. He towered over her and radiated evil. He offered to end Eva's suffering in exchange for Eden's soul. Deciding it was her duty as a mother to sacrifice anything to save her daughter's life, she signed her name in blood. Accepting her fate, Eden became a slave to Kane, ravaging all the good in her pure heart and welcomed the darkness to embrace what was left of her.
